LACZKÓ DEZSŐ MUSEUM - A SACRED ARBOUR/SHRINE OF THE MUSES IN 21st CENTURY VESZPRÉM
What actually is our museum?
A building full of old things? With paintings hanging on the wall? Quiet rooms and display cabinets? We believe it is far more than that.
A museum is perhaps the most exciting cultural institution, a gathering and authentic distribution point of the knowledge accumulated by research of its collection items to the social groups that its audience comprises, via interactive communication channels.
Our museum is dedicated to making the broadest possible range of cultural values freely accessible, considering our given conditions, to the widest audience circles, and in the most effective ways and forms. Both physically and in its spirit, it is an inclusive space where culture can meet visitor. By this, we will both benefit and grow: those who visit us and also our museum itself.
How does this come about?
This is what we aim at doing through our exhibitions, museum pedagogy sessions or voluntary programmes. This is what motivates us during professional counselling for Folk Houses or when we organise conferences to discuss new research results.
We provide opportunities to visiting researchers, artistic troupes as well as civil communities.
We give and receive experiences. We preserve and transmit values.
To you – to everyone.
